Vacation Rentals & Scams, Avoid Fraud

Holiday Rentals - Vacation Rentals and Scams, Avoid fraud

Scams involving vacation rentals are common. Holiday goers will perform their search using global holiday rental websites, local vacation rental agencies, luxury vacation rental agency, owner websites or use classified websites such as craigslist.

Using an established vacation rental company is the best way to avoid scams. Vacation rental websites are rather inexpensive to build and an attractive website does not guarantee that the company is indeed legitimate.  Holiday goers should dig further; there have been many examples of fraud being performed by newly created vacation rental websites that feature holiday rental properties that do not exist.

Holiday goers should call and review the credentials of the company and avoid it if they have any uncertainty concerning the vacation rental website, the agency, the vacation property or the security of the transaction.
