Netherlands
Amsterdam is the world’s playground for people of all ages.
Sweden
This country undoubtedly gained its position on the list of happiest countries due to its shopping culture. There is much to do in terms of shopping including the choice of top brands.

Orlando, Florida is the home of numerous theme parks and attractions such as Disney World, Sea World, MGM Studios and Universal Studios which help to keep the destination a favorite vacation spot on both the national and international levels. So with all these attractions, restaurants, a major airport and Orlando vacation rentals, it is no wonder the city is so familiar with the dedication it takes from industry employees to maintain a consistent level of service.
Because of this, much of the Orlando/Orange County tourism industry has teamed up to show its appreciation by offering “Hospitality Appreciation Days” from September 1-November 15, 2009. These days will feature special offers from over 115 stores, attractions, restaurants and Orlando vacation rentals.
Industry employees will be recognized by various forms of ID to receive industry rates. These forms of ID include employee ID, business card with valid ID and/or check stub. Those who take advantage of these offers can also take advantage of the “Orlando Magical Dining Month” at over 50 area restaurants who will be serving 3 course prix-fixe dinners for $20-$30.

Despite what brochures and guides say, peak season is not always the best time to visit a destination. You will often experience several benefits to finding the real right time to visit. Below are a few examples:
The Caribbean
What you’re told: Everyone will advise that the best time to visit the Caribbean is over Christmas. Sure, there will be plenty of celebrities and paparazzi there but it also means skyrocketing hotel, vacation rental and airfare prices. July and August get crowded as well, particularly with wealthy families. Meanwhile, this is also when the islands receive heavy rainfall and possibly even hurricanes.
The real best time: May and June are the best time to go because the weather is warm and the prices take a plunge. On top of that, you will have the beaches all to yourself.
South Africa
What you’re told: You will probably be urged to go during our winter which is when the weather is warm. While this may be true, the prices are out of this world, particularly on Christmas and New Year.
The real best time: The best time to visit is in August. Although the weather is not quite as warm, hotel and South Africa vacation rental rates drop about 40% and air fares are decent. August is also the Herpeak of whale-watching season in Hermanus and it’s a good time to visit Kruger National Park where the animals are easier to spot during dry season.
The Red Sea
What you’re told: Supposedly, this destination is good to visit year-round because of its constantly warm and sunny weather. We beg to differ. August can get scorching hot while January and February tend to get chilly.
The real best time: May, June, September and October are the best times to visit. June is the time to go if you are planning to dive and snorkel since a plankton bloom lures big fish such as whale sharks, huge manta rays and hammerheads. In September, the sea water is wonderfully warm.
Mauritius
What you’re told: Travelers are often told that the best time to go to Mauritius is during winter so you can enjoy the sun. Although the weather can be beautiful between January and March, there is a risk of cyclones. July and August pose the same threat.
The real best time: It is best to go when it tends to be warm but not too humid: April, May, October and November. May is when you will find the best deals on hotels and Mauritius vacation rentals.
Kenya
What you’re told: High season is between July and September which is when millions of wildebeests stampede north from the Serengeti. During this time, Kenya gets flooded with crowds of tourists, particularly in Masai Mara.
The real best time: Enjoy Kenya in November, the month of short rains. During this time, there are short daily bursts of rain. You will still see Wildebeests as they make their way back to the Serengeti.
The Seychelles
What you’re told: It is advised that you should go to The Seychelles during their sunny winter or during the summer. July and August is when trade winds blow in and water can get murky if you are snorkeling. Some beaches advise bathers not to swim. It is rainy season from November to March.
The real best time: The best time to go is in April or May when the sea is calm and the climate is flawless. As long as you do not go during Easter break, you will find that this season offers good value.

Although a beach vacation can also offer water sports, not all water sport vacations can offer a beach. Water sports can be practiced on rivers and lakes. If you want a combination of Beach and water sport vacations, search for vacation apartment rentals or beach vacation homes in destinations such as Miami, Acapulco or Croatia.
In water sport vacations, you can go white-water rafting in places such as North Carolina but in beach and water sport vacations you can enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling off the coast of the Cayman Islands. If you plan to immerse yourself in everything that is water, look into staying in beach vacation homes or vacation apartment rentals along a beach shore. Enjoy kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing and boating as well as just laying out and sunbathing.

Most summer holidays are spent at a beach destination. The Bahamas, Seychelles, Phuket and Mauritius Islands have some incredible beaches to offer. Although the beach is the crucial element in beach vacations, the vacation can mix plenty of other attributes such as culture, sports or sightseeing. Major worldwide tourist destinations offer plenty of activities to complement beach vacations including shopping or golfing. Although vacationers are attracted to the ocean, many want to have options for things to do on their beach vacations apart from staying in beach vacation homes on the beach.
When renting holiday villa rentals or beach vacation homes, location is key. The location that you select for your vacation villas or beach vacation homes should offer all the activities and attractions that you hope to find. In order to successfully accomplish this, vacationers should search for vacation guides. They can use a paper vacation guide such as Fodor’s or go online and find online local guides such as Miami-info.com. We prefer online local guides because we believe that a Parisian local guide is in a better position to provide good information about their city than an international company such as Lonely Planet.

Siesta Key is 35 square miles of a variety of different kinds of beaches. For example, couples and families can enjoy the quieter beaches while young adults can enjoy a party beach. The beaches are covered in jelly-soft sand and surrounded by extraordinary Gulf and bay views. Siesta Key is low key yet high-energy and elegant yet laid back. The tree-lined residential streets run along old and new condos, mansions and cottages. There are three different beaches in Siesta Key. The public beach, the largest of all three, offers skimboarding, volleyball, concession stands, lifeguards and more. On Sundays, locals gather on the beach for sunset to watch drummers, hula hoopers and belly dancers. Siesta Key Village, just a block away from the Beach Palms beachfront bungalows, has a high-energy atmosphere. Here you can sit outside of cafes among the colorful architecture and live entertainment. Crescent Beach is the more private beach. Enjoy Sarasota’s best snorkeling around the coral and slabs at Point of Rocks. Make sure to stroll along Turtle Beach and search for sharks’ teeth.
