Beach Vacations, Beach Vacation Homes

Most summer holidays are spent at a beach destination. The Bahamas, Seychelles, Phuket and Mauritius Islands have some incredible beaches to offer.  Although the beach is the crucial element in beach vacations, the vacation can mix plenty of other attributes such as culture, sports or sightseeing. Major worldwide tourist destinations offer plenty of activities to complement beach vacations including shopping or golfing. Although vacationers are attracted to the ocean, many want to have options for things to do on their beach vacations apart from staying in beach vacation homes on the beach.

When renting holiday villa rentals or beach vacation homes, location is key. The location that you select for your vacation villas or beach vacation homes should offer all the activities and attractions that you hope to find. In order to successfully accomplish this, vacationers should search for vacation guides. They can use a paper vacation guide such as Fodor’s or go online and find online local guides such as Miami-info.com. We prefer online local guides because we believe that a Parisian local guide is in a better position to provide good information about their city than an international company such as Lonely Planet.

Travelers from the United States and from international countries love to visit Miami. Although Miami is a largely popular stay, it serves well as the perfect base from which to visit other destinations in the US, the Caribbean and Latin America. The closest destination of the Caribbean is the Bahamas. The Bahamas is a collection of thousands of islands off the coast of southeast Florida. Excursions from Miami to visit the Bahamas are easy to book and inexpensive. Travelers on their way to the Bahamas normally stop in Miami anyways and end up staying there for a few days before and after they visit the Bahamas. Miami offers several different lodging options including Miami Beach hotels or Miami Beach vacation rentals.

For most travelers reaching the Bahamas through plane from the Miami International Airport, travel time takes about 1 hour or less. Nassau, Paradise Island and Eluthera are just around the corner. The Bahamas offers accommodations such as resorts, traditional hotels or Bahamas vacation rentals. Take a cruise to visit the Bahamas from Miami. The best way to visit the Bahamas is to rent a boat from Miami and make your way over to the islands. Bimini, Paradise Island, Nassau and Harbour Island are probably the most popular destinations. Book your Bahamas vacation rentals in advance!

Leaving the Bahamas, Bahamas Holiday Rentals

When it is time for boaters leaving the Bahamas to head back to the U.S after some nice holidays in Bahamas holiday rentals, there are no requirements as far as Bahamian authorities are concerned. You will just need to leave from the Island on which you last landed.

Make sure your vessel has enough gas leaving the Bahamas to get you back to your port of entry in Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Key West. The Gulf Stream is certainly not the best location in which to find yourself if your vessel runs out of gas or diesel while leaving the Bahamas. Make sure to book your Bahamas holiday rentals in advance.

Going to the Bahamas in your own boat or a rental boat is fun. Plenty of Bahamas vacation rentals await your arrival to accommodate you. However, be aware of a few important requirements for cruising to the Bahamas that should be fulfilled before you can make your way to your Bahamas vacation rentals:

1. The captain should be an experienced captain
Captains should be prepared with a recent map and GPS access. The GPS system should have the most recent data changes. Ideally, the captain would also carry an additional hand GPS. Captains should confirm that the GPS that they use is equipped with maps of the Bahamas. It is best if boaters arrive in the Bahamas while it is still daylight. The Bahamas waters are not always well-marked and you may hit unexpected rocks and damage your vessel. Caution should be exercised.

2. Checking the weather before going out is a must! The Gulf Stream can get violent
All boaters understand that checking the weather is a must and one of the most important requirements for cruising to the Bahamas. The ocean can be great, but it can also be dangerous.

3. Make sure to fulfill all legal requirements for the boat and its passengers - Vessels larger than 30 feet need to get a Customer user Fee Decal from the US Customs authorities. Send an email to the appropriate office and they will fax you a form to fill out. Alternatively, you could also go to the port and get the decal personally. The decal can also be obtained on the internet at https://dtops.cbp.dhs.gov. This decal is particularly important because its number will be required when the captain clears Customs back in the US.

Check with a Miami Charter specialist who is up-to-date with changes of regulations for the latest requirements for cruising to the Bahamas. Relax and have fun once you reach the Bahamas and sleep comfortably in Bahamas vacation rentals.
