    Travel Tips

    1. Check the latest travel status and information for your destination and subscribe to receive free e-mail notification travel updates.
    2. Invest in the appropriate travel insurance for hospital treatment, medical evaluation and activities, including adventure sports, in which you plan to participate.
    3. If traveling overseas, register your travel and contact details online or at the local embassy consulate once you arrive so they can contact you incase of an emergency.
    4. Obey the law. Consular assistance cannot override local laws, even where local laws appear harsh or unjust by local standards.
    5. Check to see if visas are required for the country or countries you are visiting or transiting. Be aware that a visa does not guarantee entry.
    6. Make copies of your passport, insurance policy, traveler’s checks, visas and credit cards. Carry one copy separately from the originals and leave a copy with someone at home.
    7. Check with health professionals for information on recommended or required vaccinations or other precautions for entering other countries and find out about overseas laws on travelling with medicines.
    8. Make sure your passport will be valid for at least six months and carry additional copies of your passport photo with you in case you need a replacement passport while overseas.
    9. Leave a copy of your travel itinerary with someone at home and keep in regular contact with friends and relatives while overseas.
    10. Before departing from your country check whether you are considered a citizen of the country you intend to visit. Research whether holding dual citizenship has any advantages or disadvantages for your trip.

    Vacation Rentals vs. Hotels

When you are planning a vacation, you may automatically think to book a hotel. Before you do, you should know that vacation rentals offer many amenities that the majority of hotels do not. Vacation rentals normally feature full kitchens and multiple bedrooms. They are available in all destinations around the world. You can find rentals in the middle of the city (perhaps a condo on the Las Vegas strip or a cabin in a ski resort) if you prefer to be surrounded by the action, but you can also find rentals in the peace and quiet.

Would it be a hotel or a vacation rental that is most suitable to accommodate families traveling with pets? There are some pet-friendly hotels that will allow well-mannered pets. However, vacation rentals are often the way to go for pet owners because many accept pets such as dogs or cats (with an additional deposit).

With hotels (especially big chains), you normally find similar things no matter which part of the world you are visiting. Vacation rentals adapt and embrace the culture of the local area. Escape Rental offers thousands of vacation rentals in every major vacation destination directly from owners. Our Vacation Rentals website offers an array of vacation homes, condos, villas and cabins to meet your vacation needs.
