The apartment is on the fourth floor (with a new elevator) of a characteristic 20th-century building, in the heart of a nice district, near great shopping and good restaurants. It is right next to one of Florence's best preserved green and hilly areas, with a stunning country landscape, which is enjoyable from our main bedroom's window. The spacious double bedroom has a king-size double bed and plenty of storage space. The window looks out over the hills of Florence: you feel like you were in the great Tuscan countryside, but you are still in the heart of the city of Florence. The single bedroom has a large window-door to the balcony of the apartment, and it is furnished with great pieces of antique furniture. The bathroom has a wash-basin, a shower, a toilet, and a bidet. There is a washing machine for your clothes, and a line on which you can dry them strung across the courtyard. The fully-equipped fitted kitchen has double sink, oven, hob, microwave and refrigerator/freezer. The breakfast/preparation table seats 4 to 6. There is a sofa for comfortable casual seating for 2 to 3 people people. We have equipped the flat to help visitors enjoy the dazzling art and architecture and marvelous fresh food Florence has to offer. After a day walking around Florence and its hills you can leaf through our selection of books about the Italy and the city, including guides, walks, some hefty art books, and recipe books. With the well-equipped, fitted kitchen you can make the most of the fruit and vegetable market just around the corner, and the cornucopian markets in the Soffiano suburb. There is a folder of tips about shops, restaurants, and travel in Florence; we shall welcome your own findings to add to it. There are also some other little touches to make life comfortable and easy in Florence: a washing machine, clothes line, iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, a big English/Italian dictionary - and a range of wellies. The house is gas heated (not much in demand between April and October); the heater gives hot water as you need it. For your comfort, all bed linen and bath towels are provided.
