The bedrooms are very spacious, and a sleeper sofa in the living room can accommodate a fifth person. One bedroom and the living room feature an unobstructed view of beautiful Lake Lungern, some seventy-five yards from the house, and the Alps, which come almost to the lake’s eastern and western shores.

The shops, restaurants, bank and ATM are a five to ten minute walk from the vacation rental. The lakeshore with swimming, boating, fishing, tennis, and mini-golf is just a couple of minutes away. Cable car service at the Obsee station is seven minutes away, where half-hourly gondola service reaches Alpine heights, a paradise for hikers. It takes a good twelve to fifteen minutes uphill walk to get to the rail station at the top of Lungern, making the Gasser-Müggler vacation rental best-suited for strong walkers.

The cable car from Obsee in the lower part of the village takes you to the alpine heights of Schönbühl, with its spectacular vistas and challenging hikes. Lungern lies in the very center of Switzerland. Hourly rail service in both directions (1 hour to Luzern and Interlaken) makes it an ideal base for day trips throughout Switzerland.
