Sharks Tooth and Seafood Festival
Every August the Sharks’ Tooth and Seafood Festival brings thousands of visitors to Caspersen Beach.
Caspersen Beach
The Casperson Beach is an isolate, natural and uncultivated beach just south of Venice Airport on Harbor Drive. This is an exceptionally good beach to find pre-historic sharks teeth and great shelling.

Brohard Paw Park (Dog Friendly Beach)

This park is known as the best dog friendly park and beach in the state. It is equipped with dog drinking fountains, dogs-only showers, fire hydrants and leash posts. Brohard Paw Park is located directly across from the only beach in the county that allows dogs to roam free.
Venice Municipal Beach
The Venice Municipal Beach is a great place to find sharks’ teeth and it attracts divers with its coral reef about one quarter mile offshore.
Nokomis Beach
This is a quiet, family-oriented beach. It’s a great site for fishing, strolling or launching a boat.
Venice Public Beach
Venice Public Beach is a great beach for children due to the on-duty lifeguards during the summer months. Although the beach is only 6-acres, it is known as one of the best beaches in Venice. It is located near the heart of Venice, at the very end of Venice Avenue. Search for shark’s teeth right here within the supervision of lifeguards. Many divers use Venice Public Beach as a starting point at a reef about a quarter mile off the shore.
